Verve is the google glass application that is designed exclusively
for the network administrators working in data centers
to provide complete and comprehensive data of the servers.

A usual problem in big cities is to find where to park and how much to pay for it. We can use map apps, but that does not make sure to quality and availability, that is why I try to find a way to solve this problem. Our brief was to conceptualize how a smartwatch app could solve a common problem in the big cities, Parking pro is a hassle-free mobile parking solution that allows students to easily locate open parking spots, pay parking fees and update parking time.

Finding a parking lot during the business hours is a nightmare for anyone with a vehicle who does not own a parking pass or leave early enough to find open street parking. Hunting for parking spots usually equates to being late to the desired work that the user is trying to go.


Google glass is a technical revolution of the time but one of the major challenges that come with such products is usability. The major challenge which we face when we started the design is the usability if the glass. Google glass is a whole different screen and the despite being quite an amazing device to use, but its interface is so radically different from a smartphone or a PC that it requires an investment of time.


The whole of the design of google glass applications works fundamentally on the card approach and is completely voice-controlled and gestured controlled hence it takes a lot of time for the users to understand the basic usage of the Google Glass. Another major problem while designing applications for google glass is the style with which the platform is built it is clunky, geeky, and sticks out like a sore thumb. Other than these another major challenge that is faced while designing applications for google glass is the adaptive design approach that is required to design the apps that work in google glass.


The major need to come up with a solution like verve is the number of servers that are in the data center, to increase the efficiency of the network administrators. Google Glass is a much easy and convenient way to carry and getting information across different servers. While designing for Google Glass we thoroughly went through the guidelines that we specified by Google for designing the user interface for google glass and thus leading to a card-based approach that helped us to achieve the desired results.

We utilized most of the interaction that is prescribed by the Google guidelines of the Glass design. Along with the user experience, we used bright colors and used colors and fonts to differentiate between tasks and organizing the information on the screen.

Soon after getting used to the device, it increased the efficiency of the users exponentially and with the new geeky devices on top, the eyes the admins could diagnose the systems in a much faster rate than by using the traditional way of diagnosis. We understood that Designing for Glass challenged us to overcome various technological limitations and unusual contextual scenarios.
